About The Strategic Play® Group LTD?

The Strategic Play® Group is a registered Canadian Company owned by Lloyd Smith Solutions. And the name Strategic Play®? Just so you know, that's a registered trademark. We have training partners around the world and they all offer the same training, developed and supervised by Jacqueline Lloyd Smith, one of the original Master Trainers in LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® methods for the LEGO® Systems Group.

We were longtime LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® Methods Licensed Partners, and we offered LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® methods training for the LEGO® Systems Group prior to the open source (2010). Our founder, Jacqueline Lloyd Smith, was appointed to the original LEGO Serious Play training board and was part of the team that transitioned the LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® licensed business model into the now Open Source Business Model (2010).

Sometimes we get together with the LEGO® Systems Group to collaborate, like that time we worked with the United Nations. And sometimes we consult directly with LEGO®. Just remember, we are a separate company. (link to the work with the UN goes here)

We are now the lead innovators of the methods. We continue to remix and replay the application and tools, blending in other systematic creative processes to meet the changing needs of our end users. We have written three books on the application of Strategic Play and we continue to develop new tools for our facilitators to use in their work.

To ensure our training is the highest standard possible, we have a seasoned curriculum designer on our team. Our training has been developed to be brain friendly and the outcomes are measurable.

We are truly honored to be friends and goodwill ambassadors to the LEGO® Group, and specifically to the LEGO® Foundation. We recognize and continue to learn from the incredible work they are doing globally as they spread the word that children learn through play. This is a process that continues into adulthood and throughout life.

About LEGO SERIOUS PLAY Methods

LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® methodology combines visual, auditory, and kinesthetic learning styles into one uniquely creative and powerful approach. It supports people-both introverts and extroverts-to think with their hands and better communicate their ideas, allowing a greater flow of information. People actually get to hear and see what others are saying and thinking. This is the perfect tool to get everyone excited about thinking and collaborating. Everyone builds and actively participates as they problem solve together, all while having fun in an environment that encourages free idea generation. The 3D model allows people to build their thoughts-constructing, deconstructing and reconstructing new ideas, concepts, and situations they can implement quickly and with full alignment.

Imagine the possibilities and excitement of the LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® methodology:
  • Quickly show the ideas inside your head
  • Everyone gets equal airtime
  • Test real business and team scenarios
  • Be engaged while building trust
  • Unify your teams with a shared language and identity
There are so many possible applications, we can't stop thinking up new ones! Here are just a few of the things we love to do with LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY®:
  • Team development
  • Product and service innovation
  • Brand creation
  • Business start-ups
  • Coaching and leadership development
  • Organizational strategy
  • Communication strategy
  • Conflict management
  • Succession planning
  • Multiple stakeholder engagements
  • Change management
